The application form must be filled in by all applicants.

Complete and submit the PhD application form that you will find in the PhD Menu on the right hand side of this link once you have registered. You will be asked to attach the following documents:
- Curriculum vitae
- A statement of purpose
- Scanned Certified Academic Records. If your University Provides a grading system explanation you should also attach it.
- Any additional files you consider relevant to your application
- Two recommendation letters from university lecturers or scientists with who the applicant has studied or worked
Recommendation letters must be sent directly to us by your referees directly from the application. Only letters with official letterhead and signature will be accepted. Referees may upload their letters directly into the application proceeding as indicated in the instructions.
Alternatively, referees may send the letters instructions either by e-mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or by airmail to our contact address.
You are responsible for ensuring that referees submit their letters. Fill in the section reserved on the application form for the names of the referees contacted and click into “Sent letter” button to send an automatic email to your referees asking for your recommendation. Otherwise, download instructions for the referees (the link is in the application form) and forward these instructions on to them. Be informed that your referees may not receive the instruccions when you click into "Sent letter" due to IT firewall systems of the email accounts. We reccomend you to contact the referees in order to verify if they have received them.
Please provide a 3-line summary of work experience you have had and indicate the research group(s) to which you wish to apply ( maximum of 2 research groups).
We suggest that you attach and submit all the information you can in English (CV, motivation letter, summary of work experience). If the certified academic records aren't in Catalan, Spanish or English you should also attach a sworn translation in one of the above mentioned languages.
